Amkey's 2005 Global Leadership Convention Is a Success!

Amkey’s 2005 Global Leadership Convention was recently held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Southern California on November 12-13.

Top leaders representing more than 10 countries and geographical locations, such as Australia, Germany, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, and the U.S., participated in the Convention. More than 500 distributors attended.

The theme for this year’s convention was “Amkey Takes Off,” marking Amkey’s exceptional growth in the international marketplace. Special emphasis was placed on providing more in-depth training and re-energizing people’s passion for developing their Amkey business.

Training sessions were divided into three major areas: “How to Accelerate Your Team’s Development,” “How to Manage Your Team,” and “Characteristics of a Successful Leader.” For each session, there was a main presenter who spoke on the topic in detail and two additional speakers who shared their experiences on the subject matter. These speakers were all experienced Amkey distributors.

Mr. Chen Yan, general manager of Amkey Beijing, and Mr. Stephen Chang, deputy general manager of Taiwan Amkey, provided insight on developments in two of Amkey’s significant international markets. Chen Yan spoke on “Amkey in China,” giving an update on China’s current regulatory situation. Stephen Chang described the present business environment in Taiwan, Amkey’s newest international market, which officially launched operations on September 25, 2005.

CardioTen, Amkey’s newest healthcare product, was also introduced at the Convention. Dr. Dallas Clouatre, accompanied by nutritionist Pei Lin Guo, spoke on the unique benefits of CardioTen and provided examples of clinical studies in which the ingredients used in CardioTen have been shown to be beneficial to people’s cardiovascular health.

Amkey’s President, Steve Chen, delivered the keynote speech, “Amkey Takes Off.” This speech was divided into two parts. On the first day of the convention, Steve Chen described “the 6 principles of successful companies and the 10 characteristics of outstanding leaders.” These principles and characteristics were based on conclusions from studies conducted by three major U.S. companies, including the consulting giant McKinsey & Co., the renowned polling company Gallup, and the global executive recruiting firm Spencer Stuart.

On the second day, Steve Chen began by focusing on the value of logic and how to integrate logical thinking into the development and operation of an Amkey distributorship. He also emphasized the importance of attitude and how to develop an effective mental strategy for succeeding at the Amkey business. From there, he outlined Amkey’s global market strategy and the advantageous policies the company has adopted for entering new markets. He concluded by reporting on strategic changes that were being made to the China business model.

Several distributors also received awards throughout the two-day convention. 15 “Outstanding Speaker” awards, 6 “Top Leader” awards, and 5 “Special Recognition” awards for new Amkey distributors were presented. Amkey also recognized its “Top 50 Distributors,” those people whose annual business income in U.S. dollars ranges anywhere from six-to-seven figures. The combination of these distributors’ leadership capabilities with the Amkey business platform has helped create some new millionaires.

We look forward to seeing you at Amkey’s next Convention which will be held on May 26-27, 2006.
